Diana's research focuses on the regulation effects on the credit granted to firms (micro, small, medium, and large-sized firms).

Diana holds a PhD in Finance from Tilburg University, an MSc in Finance from Tilburg University, an MSc in Finance (concentration in Quantitative Finance) from Bocconi University, a BSc in Actuarial Science from ITAM, a Diploma in Dynamic Econometric Models and another in Financial Derivatives from ITAM.

For several years Diana was part of the research unit at the Central Bank of Mexico. Diana's main role was the monitoring of the total financing granted to the non-financial private sector in Mexico with particular attention to the banking and alternative financing sources. She was also monitoring the International Financial Statistics conducted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at a national level and she was involved in forecasting with financial derivates. She joined a summer research project at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and she was selected to join for the trainee research program from the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).  Diana is a junior research fellow from the European Banking Center (EBC) of Tilburg University.




Research interests

My research interests include:

  • Banking. Bank lending granted to firms, households (finance), and mortgages.
  • Alternative sources of financing granted to firms, households (finance), and mortgages (Fintech, shadow banking, suppliers, debt issuance -green bonds- etc.)
  • Access to financial services
  • Financial regulation
  • Climate change and firms
